Fluid was very dark. Almost nothing on the drain magnet. During the road test, the transmission would flare when shifting into 3rd. After releasing the gas pedal the transmission would drop down into 2nd or 1st gear. I couldn’t get it to flare again but it would happily shift between 1st and 2nd as needed.
Some received a very small incentive/help from Honda but most had to shell over $3500 for a new transmission. I only have 53,000 miles on the vehicle and never had a problem until this blinking light. I'm a little disappointed that Honda has not done anything with the transmission problems that current and older model Pilots are experiencing.

IMHO, most of the problems that people have with this transmission are due to torque converter clutch failure that can be blamed on Honda’s VCM system. At 30k miles, you should not be having any problems, VCM related or not.
